TEAM FOR AUCKLAND
SWIMMERS FROM TARANAKI.
SELECTION AFTER TITLE RACES.
The final selection of the team to represent the Taranaki Centre at the New Zealand swimming championship was made after the races for the Taranaki titles at New Plymouth last night The official representatives selected were John Neville, New Plymouth club, and Miss V. Carncross, Eltham club. The centre has also paid the nomination fees for R. Williams, East End, R. Charters, New Plymouth, and F. Maslin, Eltham, who are making the visit themselves to compete in the diving championship. The two senior champions have been entered for the following events: Miss Carncross, women’s 220 yards and 440 yards, chamiponships; Neville, men’s 220 yards, quarter-mile, half-mile and one mile titles. Neville Will swim in the mile in preference to the ’Annette Kellerman Cup three miles open water swim. The team will be accompanied by Mrs. 0.. Allen, Eltham, . as chaperone, and Mr. W. J. Moorhead, New Plymouth, as manager and delegate. The representatives will leave New Plymouth next Friday night and will return the following Wednesday morning unless they are still engaged in races.
