Having recovered from his recent injury at Randwick McCarten rode again at the Warwick Farm races. The results are:— SEFTON HANDICAP. IMPASTE, 8.6 (D. Munro) 1 BILL WEDGEWOOD, 8.10 (O’Bryan) 2 CROUPIER, 9.10 (McCarten) 3 Nine started. Won by half a length; a length between second and third. Time, Im. 265. WARWICK JANUARY HANDICAP. REGAL SON, 8.10 (D. Munro) 1 MAINLAW, 8.6 (Marsden) 2 HIGH CROSS, 8.8 (Pratt) 3 Ten started, including Miss Nottava and Lovington. Won by three-quarters of a length; a length between second and third. Time, 2m. 18s. In the Nursery Handicap Linklet finished second. Sir Walter was unplaced. In the Berala Handicap Visage and Love Song were unplaced. VICTORIA AMATEUR TURF CLUB. WORTHING WINS ANNIVERSARY. Rec. 6.30 p.m. Melbourne, Jan. 19. The Victoria Amateur Turf Club's races were held to-day. Among the results were:— ANNIVERSARY HANDICAP. WORTHING, 7.5 (Tomlinson) ....... 1 THREE PIPS, 7.12 (Callinan) 2 PETAU, 8.0 (Dempsey) 3 Eleven started, including Gaine Carrington and First Money. Won by half a length; half a head between second and third. Time, Im. 12s. In the Koakaribb Trial Cape Lilock was unplaced. The jockey Harold Skidmore was suspended for a month for allowing Heros to cross too sharply entering the straight in the Toorouga Handicap. JOCKEYS REINSTATED. Melbourne, Jan. 19. Two well-known jockeys, T. Lewis and N. Percival, who were refused riding licenses by the V.R.C. committee over two years ago, were reinstated to-day.
