STOCK DOG TRIALS. PUNGAREHU DEMONSTRATION. An event unique in the history of the coastal district between New Plymouth and Opunake will take place at Pungarehu to-morrow afternoon, when under the auspices of the newly formed Cape Egmont Stock Dog Trial Club exhibition trial runs will be given by several well-known Taranaki experts with their well trained and clever dogs. The exhibitions are being held mainly for the purpose of giving the young farmers of the district, who are competing at the forthcoming trials, an opportunity of gaining valuable knowledge of the art of handling sheep as practised by masters of the craft. The exhibitions should also serve to evoke further interest in the trials, which are to be held next month. In the morning meetings of all committees will be held to make ■ final arrangements for the trials.
