ArrnangementS for the annual Petrie Shield competition for B grade tennis teams in Central Taranaki were made last night at a meeting of the committee at Stratford. It was announced that at the epd of the competition two cups, one for ! a woman and the other for a man, would be awarded to the players with the highest number of sets won in the rounds and the smallest number of losses. For the shield the two sections, Thursday and Saturday, will play off. In the Thursday section tour teams have entered? and th© patches will be played "every fortnight. The teams are for six women and six men. The draw, with home teams mentioned first, is:— January 31: • Stratford V. Cardiff, Methodist v. Midhirst February 14: Cardiff V. Midhirst, Stratford v. Methodist. February 28: Midhirst v. Stratford, Cardiff v, Methodist. Teams of four men and four women will play in the Saturday section, where six teams have entered. The draw, with home teams mentioned first, is; February 2: Stratford v. Huinga, Douglas v. Lowgarth, Radnor Road v. Ngaere. February 9: Huinga v. Lowgarth, Radnor Road v. Stratford, Ngaere v. DougFebruary 16: Lowgarth v. Radnor Road, Douglas v. Huinga, Stratford v. Ngaere. February 23: Lowgarth v. Ngaeie, Huinga v. Radnor Road, Douglas v. Stratf°March 2: Stratford v. Lowgarth, Radnor Road v. Douglas, Ngaere v. Huinga.
