Following the recovery of the body of James Albert Ross, aged 23, a labourer, Charles Jeffrey Jones, aged 24, a relative of Ross, was remanded in the Seymour Court on a charge of murder. Three young women and two men were questioned by the police before the charge was made in court. An earlier cable message stated that the body was found in a creek on Monday after 70 residents and the police had been searching since his disappearance from Tallarook on Friday. There was a bullet wound behind his right ear, his legs and arms were bound, and a rock was tied to his wrists.
