TWO MEN LOSE THEIR LIVES. heavy losses of farmers. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Sydney, Jan. 14. The central and southern tablelands and the south-western districts of the State have been lashed by terrific storms. Flooded roads and broken wires resulted in communications being disorganised and a number of towns are practically isolated. Centres reported heavy losses in orchards and to crops. The telephone switchboard at Dorrigo, on the north coast, was struck by lightning and burst into flames. «... . Two tragedies are reported. Frederick Smith, 22, was drowned while attempting to cross a flooded stream on horseback near Wagga. Ernest Flynn, 52, was drowned when his car was swept away by a wall of water which came down the usually dry creek bed near Bathurst.
