SCORING BY VISITING GOLFERS. NARROW WINS AT CHRISTCHURCH. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. A large gallery at the Shirley links to-day saw splendid golf by the visiting British amateurs, the Hon. Michael Scott, J. McLean, T. A. Bourn and L. G. Garnett, who met a team of Christchurch club players in four-ball matches. The Christchurch players were in good form and the visitors had to return better than scratch scores to win by a narrow margin in each case. The weather was overcast but mild, and apart from a light drizzle towards the end of the morning round playing conditions were excellent. The course in spite of the recent drought was in good order and earned high praise from the visitors, although most of them had difficulty in gauging the strength of the greens. Results were:— Morning Round. Scott and McLean beat C. J. Ward and C. A. Seymour, 3 up and 2. Bourn and Garnett beat A. R. Blank and E. J. Pumphrey, 3'iup and 2. Afternoon Round. Scott and McLean beat Blank and Pumphrey, 2 up and 1. Bourn and Garnett beat Ward and Seymour, 3 up and 2.
