AUSTRALIA LOSES NINE FOR 147. QUEENSLANDER SAVES THE DAY. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 10.25 p.m. Sydney, Jan. 4. In the second women’s cricket .test match Australia in the first innings lost nine for 147, K. Smith 47, J. Brewer 34. The weather was hot and about 4000 were present. Australia won toe toss and batted. Three valuable Australian wickets fell quickly to the bowling of Miss Maclagan when the Queenslander Smith stopped the rot. She and Brewer offered a stubborn resistance.
