IMPROVED TRADING WITH INDIA. BRITISH COMMISSIONER’S VIEW. British Official Wireless. Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Jan. 2. Conditions and prospects for the United King’s trade with India are reviewed in a report on the year 1933-34 by the Senior Trade Commissioner in India and Ceylon. In the course of the report he states that industrialists in both countries are at last realising that the interests of all parties can best be served by substituting a progressive spirit of co-oper-ation and mutual understanding for the old attitude of suspicion and mistrust. He adds that the stimulus which this movement may be expected to exercise on trade is incalculable. It was satisfactory to record that imports from the United Kingdom were remarkably well maintained in the last trade year over a wide range of competitive goods.
