CHAMPIONSHIPS DECIDED. GATHERING AT MOTUEKA

Championship events at the successful Motueka Highland gathering, which was attended by many from other parts of New Zealand, resulted: — Sean Triubhais, New Zealand championship, for girls 12 years and over: Gladys Smyth (Hastings) 1, Joy McLachlan (Christchurch) 2, Jean McLachlan (Christchurch) 3. Sean Triubhais, South Island championship, for men and boys: Manly Jamieson (Blenheim) 1, Clarrie Jamieson (Blenheim) 2. Sword dance, South Island championship, for girls 18 and under; Jean McLachlan (Christchurch) 1, Margaret Kerr (Granity) 2, Reta Warem (Takaka) 3.
