Miss M. Ayson, Wellington, is the guest of Miss G. Syme.
Mrs. G. Cooper and Miss M. Cooper have returned from a short visit to Manaia.
Mrs. Ritter is visiting New Plymouth. Miss J. Patterson is spending a holiday at Tauranga.
Mrs. M. Kebble is spending the holidays at New Plymouth. Mrs. R. S. Allen is visiting Rotorua and Auckland.
Mrs. J. M. Hutchinson is visiting New Plymouth. Mrs. A. Craig is spending a holiday at Eastings.
Mrs. H. K. Slocom.be,. Westport, is spending a month’s holiday with her mother, Mrs. W. T. Gibb. Misses Lorna and Audrey Bourke left during the week for Wellington, where they will spend a holiday with their sisters.
On Friday afternoon Miss .V. Beech entertained her pupils and friends at a musical recital at her home, Hunter Road, Eltham. During the afternoon an honourable mention certificate gained at the recent examination of the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music was presented to Phyllis Nairn. A programme of pianoforte and. vocal solos and duets was presented by Dulcie Babington, Ruth Wall, Phyllis Nairn, Effie Edgecombe, Mavis Preece, Dorothy Willis, Evelyn Calder, Audrey and Gladys Carlson and Doris Hammond. Miss E. Beech contributed elocutionary items. Afternoon tea was served, after which games and competitions were held on the lawn.
