DROWNING AT URUTI

FINDING OF ACCIDENTAL DEATH. A finding of accidental drowning in the Mimi River at Uruti on December 19 was recorded at an Inquest on Robert Slater Hall, aged 20, held at the house of Mr. G. W. Murray at Uruti yesterday. The coroner was Mr. A. R; Alpe, J.P., and the jury comprised Messrs. C. Agate (foreman), J. Bell, E. J. Haylock and C. T. Meredith. Evidence was given by George William Murray, William Michael Murray, both of Uruti, and Constable J. Tocher, Waitara. The evidence showed that Hall, who was not able to swim, found himself in difficulties when he went out of his depth in about seven feet of water in the river. He became excited and sank, his head and shoulders slipping under a big log across the river, where the body was found later.
