SENTENCE ON GRIFFUf PROHIBITED IMMIGRANT DUTCH DICTATION TEST EVIDENCE BY CUSTOMS By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright Rec. 8 p.m. Sydney, Nov. 30. Gerald Griffin, a New Zealand salesman aged 28, was to-day sentenced to six months’ imprisonment on a charge of being a prohibited immigrant A Customs officer, Richard Wilson, gave evidence that Griffin was submitted to a dictation test in Dutch, Griffin replying, “On the advice of my solicitor I object to these proceedings.” The magistrate said he would leave it to the Crown authorities to determine when the sentence should expire.
