VISIT OF SARAZEN
FIRST MATCH AT WELLINGTON. DOES NO BETTER THAN A. J. SHAW. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Gene Sarazen, the American professional golfer, made his first appearance at Wellington on the Miramar links this afternoon. The American partnered A. J. Shaw in a match against the amateurs, J. H. Drake and H. A. Black, in which the professionals proved victorious 6 up and 5. Sarazen covered the course in 72, going out in 34 and coming home in 38. Shaw also did a 72, taking 37 out and 35 home. Drake and Black took 38 each way.
