Gene Sarazen, the American professional golfer, made his first appearance at Wellington on the Miramar links this afternoon. The American partnered A. J. Shaw in a match against the amateurs, J. H. Drake and H. A. Black, in which the professionals proved victorious 6 up and 5. Sarazen covered the course in 72, going out in 34 and coming home in 38. Shaw also did a 72, taking 37 out and 35 home. Drake and Black took 38 each way.
