MAN’S BROKEN SKULL
POLICE ALLEGE AN ASSAULT. NEW PLYMOUTH COURT CASE. A charge of assaulting Hugh Bennett in Brougham Street, New Plymouth, on November 22, so as to cause actual bodily harm, was preferred against a young New Plymouth man in the New Plymouth Court yesterday. Mr. W. H. Woodward. S.M., ordered a suppression of the man's name until the preliminary hearing. Detective Kearney asked for a remand until December 10. Bennett was in hospital suffering from a fractured skull, he said. A remand was granted and bail allowed on two sureties of £25 each.
