Mrs. Bates beat Mrs. Tyack by default; Mrs. Bates beat Mrs. Thurston 26—17; Mrs. Bates beat Mrs. Gower. B Doubles. Mesdames Bates and Gower beat Mesdames Thurston and Lewis 26—10. A Doubles. Mrs. Peacock and Miss Thomas beat Mesdames Cooper and Manley 26—18. A and B Doubles. Mesdames Manley and Bates beat Mesdames Egarr and Peacock 26—13. NOVEMBER COMPETITIONS. The competitions for the month of November were won by Miss Thomas (A division) and Mrs. Bates (B division). In a friendly game Mrs. Collingwood and Miss Thomas beat Mrs. Cooper and Mrs. Jenkins. DEATH OF NONAGENARIAN. MRS. HARRIETT GREEN PASSES. At the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. Moon, Stratford, Mrs. Harriett Green died early yesterday morning. Mrs. Green was in her 90th year. Mrs. Green was bom at Nelson and was a widely known and highly respected resident there. She also lived at Wanganui on, and off for some 25 years and was equally 4vell known in that district. For the past three months she has been staying with Mrs. Moon at Stratford. She leaves four sons and six daughters. ADVERTISERS’ ANNOUNCEMENTS. All those interested in amateur theatrical work in Central Taranaki are reminded that the annual general meeting of the Central Taranaki centre of the British Drama League will be held in the Stratford Borough Council chambers to-morrow at 8 p.m. An advertisements appears in the advertising columns relative to a number of meetings to be held to discuss the financial position of those engaged in the farming industry with a view to seeing their interests will be safely protected under the proposed mortgage corporation legislation to be brought down at the February session of Parliament. STANLEY LUPINO IN “HAPPY.” Enthusiastically acclaimed as the laughter successor to his “Sleepless Nights” and “You Made Me Love You,” Stanley Lupino’s new musical comedy, “Happy,” the cast of which includes some four or five other comedians concludes tonight at the King’s Theatre, Stratford.
