SANDERS CUP TRIAL
FIRST RACE SAILED AT LYTTELTON. LAST YEAR’S CUP FIRST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The first Sanders Cup yacht trial race to select the defender of the trophy for Canterbury was sailed at Lyttelton yesterday afternoon in a fresh north-east breeze. Irene (E. Sinclair), winner of the cup last, season, finished first with Manihi (G. Brassell), a new boat, second. Jean was third and Colleen, Avenger and Elfin finished in that order.
