Mrs. H. Vaughan left on Thursday to pay a visit to Auckland. Mrs. W. Nosworthy entertained friends on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. L. Sole, Stratford, is visiting Waitara and is the guest of her mother, Mrs. J. Armstrong.
Mrs. C. Whyte was hostess at a tennis afternoon on Thursday. Mrs. R. Tate left during the week to spend' a holiday with Mrs. Hughson, Stratford.
Mrs. Purdie, senr., spent a few days during the week as the guest of Mrs. W. Jonas, Waitoitoi. Miss N. Walker, who has been the guest of Miss Eva Fowler, has returned to Midhirst.
A “bring and buy” afternoon organised by the Methodist ladies’ guild was held in the Methodist hall on Thursday. Items were given by Mesdames Cuming (recitation), Locke (violin), and Mrs. Andersen and Miss T. Cuming (pianoforte duet).
