The mystery of the British National Films production of the life of Cecil Rhodes, which was allegedly stopped because of strong representation by General Smuts and other prominent South Africans, is deepened by General Smuts’ denial of interference. He says that the film has his entire approval. It was stated pieviously that the reason for the objection was the fear that the film would stir up racial hatred. _
