SHIELD MATCHES PLAYED RESULTS IN ALL DIVISIONS WIDE MARGINS IN SOME GAMES Taranaki inter-club shield bowling competitions were continued on Saturday. The greens in most cases were fairly keen. A number of games were won by wide margins. An advantage of 19 points against New Plymouth on its own greens gave Fitzroy a win in a home and home match. New Plymouth was a point ahead on its own green. Vogeltown and Fire Brigade played a draw, while Lepperton lost to Vogeltown, West End inflicted a severe defeat on Paritutu, and Waitara had a loss and a win against Awakino and Urenui respectively.

FITZROY BEATS NEW PLYMOUTH. HOME AND HOME CONTEST. Playing home and home matches, Fitzroy beat New Plymouth by 18 points.
