PALMERSTON NORTH—DUNEDIN. SHIPPING COMPANY’S PLANS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch,. Last Night. It is reported that the Union Steam Ship Company intends to apply, for. a license to operate an air service between. Palmerston North' and Dunedin. The report was referred' to-day by telephone to Mr. J; W.. Matthewson, general manager of the Union. Steamship Company;, who refused to affirm or deny- it. It is suggested, that a, time-table may be arranged to allow the passengers, on the south-bound, main trunk express, to be picked up at Palmerston North about 7 a.m. and. flown to Christchurch and Dunedin before noon. A northern service could also be. organised to allow mails posted at Dunedin one day to. reach Auckland the following morning.
