FEILDING CATTLE PRICES. ENTRY FROM HAWKE’S BAY. Feilding, Nov. 9. There was a heavy yarding for the supplementary cattle fair, entries including a large contingent from Hawke’s Bay. There was a splendid sale throughout, with practically no passings. Store cattle of all classes advanced 5s to 7s 6d a head over the prices of a fortnight ago', both P.A. and Herefords finding a ready market. The stock purchased was well distributed, though lines ready for fattening were secured by local farmers who have an abundance of feed just now. A particularly good demand existed for P.A. cattle, both male and female selling well, while Herefords also were in keen demand. The highest price for Hereford males was £5 19s for very good bullocks and for females £4 for three-year-old heifers. The highest for P.A. was £5 19s for bullocks and for females £4 15s for three-year heifers. Holstein bullocks made £4 17s, Shorthorn steers, threeyear, £4 12s. The fat cattle maket was easy. KEEN DEMAND FOR SHEEP. Te Kuiti, Nov. 9. Abraham and Williams Limited reports that at the firm’s usual tri-weekly stock sale at Pio Pio yesterday there was a small yarding of sheep and a fairly full yarding of cattle. Sheep were again in keen demand and sold at advanced rates. Quotations: Full-mouth ewes, with 100 per cent, of white-face lambs, to 36s 7d; light fat cows, £2 15s to £3; three-year steers, to £4 7s 6d; forward, cows, £1 16s to £2 12s; rough cows and calves, to £2 8s; yearling steers, medium quality, £2 19s; small yearling Jersey heifers, £1 5s to £1 15s; Polled Angus bulls, 15gns; Hereford bulls, to lOgns; Jersey bulls, to £3 3s; Shorthorn bulls, to £4 10s. Dalgety and Company Limited reports having had a small yarding of sheep and a medium yarding of cattle.
