PLUNKET SOCIETY MEETING. CROQUET CLUB GALA AFTERNOON. The monthly meeting of the Inglewood Plunket Society was held on Saturday, Mrs. S. Wanklyn presided. There were present Mesdames Weams, Gilford, Moir, Baker, Cameron, Crossman, Twist, McAllister, Judd and Atkinson and the secretary, Mrs. H. Winter. The secretary reported that £lO 9s 4d Was made from the mart and copper trail held recently. It was decided to start the baby carni--val in the second week in February. Subscriptions were acknowledged from Mesdames R. Clough, Moir, J. Mcßae and Dobbyn. The Plunket nurse, Miss B. Cartwright, submitted the following report: Babies on books, old 90, new 11; visits to homes, old 8, new 13; visits to office, adults 96, babies 81, older children 24; domestic hygiene, 14; older children under supervision, 66; visits to nursing home, 5. The Inglewood Croquet Club held a gala afternoon on Thursday in aid of the new school ground improvement fund. The weather was perfect. Members of the club who had worked hard to make the day a success were disappointed with the attendance, only 25 being present. Various competitions were held, the results being: Ladder croquet, Mrs. Brown; golf croquet, Mrs. Maetzig; uflukem, Mrs. Bublitz. At the five hundred evening held in the band room by the croquet club there were 10 tables. The winners were Mrs. Ashton, Miss Lovell, Mr. Stewart and Mr. Sims.
