WAITARA

Miss T. De Launey, Wellington, is the guest of Miss L. Limmer, Brixton. Miss A. Wells, who has been a relieving teacher at the New Plymouth Girls High School, has returned to Waitara. Mrs. Crumpton, Te Kuiti, has been the guest of her mother, Mrs. W. Telfar.

Mrs. D. B. Cuming returned to Waitara from Wellington on Friday. Mrs. H. Foreman, Tikorangi, entertained on Tuesday afternoon.

Mrs. R. Ayres, Palmerston North, is visiting Waitara as the guest of Mrs. H. Wakley.

Mrs. D. Mitchell and Miss E. Mitchell are visiting New Plymouth. Mrs. Macfarlane, Ashburton, is the guest of Mrs. D. B. Cuming. Members of the Clifton Park Croquet Club held an enjoyable flag five hundred evening in St. John’s hall, on Monday. Prizewinners were Mesdames I. Elliot, M. Carrick and L. Wilson. Mrs. H. J. M. Wells, Waitara, was removed to the New Plymouth hospital on Thursday and underwent an operation. Iler condition is serious. An enjoyable afternoon was spent at the Clifton Park tennis courts on Thursday when the club was opened for the season. There were visitors from other clubs. After Dr. R. L. Barclay had declared the courts open, sets were arranged. Afternoon tea was served by the women members.
