WRECK OF THE CITY OF CAMBRIDGE H.M.S. ADVENTURE TO THE RESCUE. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 7.50 p.m. Hong Kong, Oct. 17. The British salvage tug Taikoo was forced yesterday to leave the wreck of the City of Cambridge, stuck on the Pratas reef, owing to typhoon conditions. She sent a wireless message that she was endeavouring to return to Hong Kong but was receiving a tremendous buffeting and asking for immediate assistance. H.M.S. Adventure is rushing to the tug’s assistance. The tug is commanded by Captain Thirwell. Two other Britons are on board as well as the Chinese crew of 90.
