IN THE MATTER of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.” XTOTICE is hereby given that the Taranaki Electric-power Board (hereinafter called “the Board”) having obtained the sanction of the Local Government Loans Board in that behalf, proposes to raise a Special Loan of £ll,OOO, to be known as “The Clifton County Special Rating Area No. 1 Reticulation Loan, 1934.” The proposed loan is for the purpose of constructing, erecting and carrying out “Electric Works” as defined by “The Electric-power Boards Act, 1925,” and the doing of all other acts and things authorised in that connection and found lawfully necessary and expedient for and in connection with the distribution and sale of electric energy and power within the Clifton County Special Rating Area No. 1 of the Taranaki Electricpower District, as constituted by resolution of the Board passed on the 23rd day of March, 1934, and recorded in the Minutes of its proceedings of that date at pages 1615 and 1616, and the acquisition, erection and/or purchase of land, buildings, easements, plant, machinery, material and things required for or incidental to such distribution and sale and the doing of all other acts and things authorised in that connection by the said Act, in respect of which works, guarantees as described in Clause 12 (1) of the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1927, have been given in favour of the Board for payments amounting in each of not less than five consecutive years from the completion of such works to at least 161 per cent, of the estimated capital cost of such works, subject to the following conditions:— (1) The term for which the loan is borrowed shall not exceed twenty (20) years. (2) The rate of interest payable in respect of the said loan shall not exceed three pounds fifteen shillings (£3 15s Od) per centum per annum. (3) The said loan or any part thereof together with interest thereon shall be repair by equal aggregate annual or half-yearly instalments extending over a period not exceeding the term specified in Condition No. 1 hereof. (4) The payment of such instalments shall be made in New Zealand and no such instalment shall be paid out of loan money. (5) The rate payable for brokerage, underwriting and procuration fees in respect of the raising of the said loan or any part thereof shall not in the aggregate exceed one-half per centum of any amount raised. (6) Without the previous consent of the Local Government Loans Board, no moneys shall be borrowed under this proposal after the 6th day of July, 1936. The Board proposes to pledge as security for repayment of the, said loan and interest thereon—(a) The “Electric Works” and undertakings before mentioned and the revenue thereof respectively. (b) A Special Rate of eleven twentyfourths (11/24ths) of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of capital value) of all rateable property of the said Clifton County Special Rating Area No. 1, the boundaries whereof are described in said resolution of 23rd. March, 1934, and the rateable properties thereof set out in the relative Special Roll already prepared, deposited and authenticated pursuant to Regulations in that behalf, such rate to be an annual-recurring Rate during the currency of such loan or until the loan is fully paid off and to be made and levied by resolution of the Board to be passed after the said loan has been agreed to by the ratepayers of the said Special Rating Area.
