Strong comment on the action of food suppliers and people in the poultry trade in the North Island employing professional “gunmen” to go out and shoot game in season was made, by Dr. A. F. Ritchie Crawford when giving a report on the annual conference of acclimatisation societies to the council of the Southland Acclimatisation Society.
