CHIMPANZEE THRASHES GORILLA. HUGE APE ATTACKS HIS KEEPER. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—-Copyright. Berlin, Oct. 11. Toto, the most popular chimpanzee in the zoo, heroically saved a keeper from death at the hands of a gorilla weighing 5001 b. Bobby, nicknamed “King of the monkey house,” suddenly threw his keeper to the ground and tried to maul him. Toto seized the keeper’s whip and thrashed the gorilla until it ceased its attacks. This gave the keepers time to rescue the fallen man.
