TENNIS AT AWATUNA

ANNUAL MEETING OF CLUB. LARGE NUMBER AT OPENING. The annual meeting of the Awatuna Tennis Club was held recently. Officers elected were: Captain and selector, Mr. M. Kedgley; committee, Messrs. I. Alty (chairman), M. Kedgley, Roy Corbett, D. Lind, Mesdames Niccolls and Granville and Misses N. Farquhar and Carmichael (secretary). On the opening day visitors were present from Mangahume, Te Kiri, Riverlea and Auroa to take part in a Yankee tournament. The finalists were Miss F. Bailey and Mr. M. Kedgley, Awatuna. Messrs. P. Bourke and B. Watson have returned from a motor trip to Auckland.
