GIRL GUIDE MEETING
TARANAKI PROVINCIAL BODY. SATISFACTORY REPORTS GIVEN. The annual meeting of the Taranaki Girl Guides’ Association was held in the Victoria League rooms, New Plymouth, on Friday afternoon when Mrs. D. K. Morrison, provincial ‘commissioner, presided over about 20 delegates from districts in Taranaki. The financial statement for the year was read by the act-ing-provincial secretary, Miss B. Balharry, and reports on the workings of the different companies throughout Taranaki were submitted by the delegates. Commenting on the reports, Mrs. Morrison stated that all had shown that progress had been made throughout the year and she congratulated the associations on their efforts. She reported also that during the year she had visited all the companies in Taranaki, She was pleased to be able to state that a new company had recently been formed at Waitara.
Mrs. J. Houston, divisional commissioner for South Taranaki, outlined arrangements that had been made for a guide rally to be held at Paeroa in November and invited representatives from all the Taranaki companies to be present at 'it. Votes of thanks were accorded all badge examiners, both locally and provincially, Miss D. N. Allan, Mr. T. G. Hirst for auditing the books and the Press.
At the conclusion gf the meeting all present were the guests of the association at afternoon tea.
