UPPER MANGOREI NEWS
DISCUSSION BY BIBLE CLASS. The Bible class met last Tuesday night when Mrs. F. Knauf took charge of the meeting. The subject for discussion was “What Think Ye of Christ.” A flag five hundred evening was held on Friday night at Upper Mangorei. There was a good attendance. Players at the winning table were Messrs. J. Johnston, H. Brown, C. Radford and D. Gleye. The consolation table comprised Messrs. J. Balsom, F. Baker, H. Walla th and D. Pitt. A Band of Hope meeting was held on Saturday night, Mr. Bellringer presiding. There was ia good attendance. Items were given by Miss’Sowerby (piano), Mr. Aken (songs,) Misses Vina Jamieson and Betty Pearce (duet), Mrs. Brown, Cathie and Vina Jamieson, Mary Smith and Muriel Knauf (elocution). Community singing was led by Mr. Aken with Miss Sowerby as accompanist. Mr. Bellringer gave an interesting temperance address. Supper and games concluded the meeting. Mr. H. Wood motored to Wellington last week-end on account of his brother’s illness.
Mr. H. Brown is staying with Mrs. S. Kruse.
