WAITARA CRICKET CLUB
JUNIOR GRADE TEAM’S SUCCESS. The annual report of the committee of the Waitara Cricket Club to be submitted to members at the club’s annual meeting to-night records that the Saturday junior team won its competition and holds the Whittle Cup. .R. Attrill, A Chadwick and S. Galyer obtained juniot representative honours. The Thursday competition last season was a failure, as Stratford was the only other team to be represented, the report continues. Prospects are brighter this season as Inglewood and Eltham will both enter the competition. J. Priar, A. CollinS and W. Pizzey were also selected to play in representative matches. The funds of the club show a credit balance of £4 Os 6d, compared with £2 3s 6d last season, an increase of £1 17s, which is very creditable as much new equipment had to be bought. Outstand • ing subscriptions are only £4 10s, coo pared with £22 .10s last season. The Press, donors to the funds ?nd others supported the club and Mr. L. H. Sampson audited the books.
