HEAVY LAMB LOSS FEARED

WET WEATHER IN HAWKES BAY.

MANY OF PADDOCKS INUNDATED.

By Telegraph—Press Association. Hastings, Last Night.

The unusually cold, wet weather experienced throughout Hawkes Bay this week is regarded with disfavour by fanners, as it is undoubtedly causing a certain degree of mortality among lambing flocks in central Hawkes Bay, Several farmers have had their lambing paddocks inundated with water and lambs are having a miserable time. At present it is impossible to state the extent of the losses that have occurred, but it is predicted they will be fairly heavy, particularly among late lambing flocks and two-tooth ewes.
