GOLF MATCHES AT WAITARA. CHAMPIONSHIPS AND MEDAL. In the second -round of the junior championship J. Priar beat H. P. Dugdale 1 up. In the third round H. Levestam beat D. Locke 3 and 2 and A. J. Wells beat D. Richards 5 and 3. Tire best cards returned in a medal match played on Saturday were: S. Richards 77—12—65, A. G. Wills 73—6—67, L. Lye 85-17-68, J. Main 81—11—70, J. W. Hamlin 97—24 —73, R. H. Early 89—16—73, H. Levestam 98—24—74, A. S. McGregor 92—17—75, D. Locke 102—26—76, K. Lye 79—14—75, H. Dugdale 99—22—77, G. P. Fuller 87—8—79, C. H. Sampson 92—12—80. MANAKORIHI WOMEN’S TITLE. MISS KNIGHT AGAIN WINNER. Miss Knight, by defeating Mrs. C. M. Whyte 5 up and 3, again won the women’s senior championship of the Manakorihi Golf Club. PATEA CHAMPIONSHIPS. PROGRESS IN ALL EVENTS. First round games in the men's senior championship of the Patea Golf Club resulted: Currie beat Pettigrew, Sheild beat Harris, Haddow beat Bourn, Hughes beat Gilbert.

First round games in the junior championship resulted: Kehely beat Corbett, K. Honeyfield beat Dobson, Gerrahy beat Harkness, Roots beat L. Honeyfield, W. Honeyfield won by default from Meharry, Adams beat C. R. Honeyfield. C grade matches resulted: Burgess beat Milliken, McDowall beat Hogg, Aagaard beat Holmes, Richardson won by default from Naismith. In the second round Glenny beat Stevens, Burgess beat McDowall, Taylor beat Lester. In the Women’s championship Miss K. Hurley beat Miss M. Gilligan in the second round in the senior section, Miss Harris beat Mrs. Glenny and Mrs. Mcßae beat Miss Glenny. In the second round of the junior championship Miss Carey beat Miss C. Davidson, Mrs. Harris beat Mrs. Sheahan, Miss Wyboume beat Mrs. Crompton and Miss Petersen beat Miss Gibbings. In the last game the players went to the 21st green. In the C grade championship, second round, Miss Roberts beat Mrs. Corbett and Miss Tomkins beat Miss Waterland. ABBOTT FERNS COMPETITION. NEW HOLDERS OF TROPHIES. Keen competition has been evident in the contests for the ferns .given to the Eltham Golf Club by Mr. E. L. Abbott, and the trophies have changed possession at least a dozen times already. In a match last week-end the challengers, Turner (7) and Wills (2), beat the holders, Wilds (9) and W. O. Hill (14), 3 and 2. TARURUTANGI MATCHES. PROGRESS OF CHAMPIONSHIPS. Match play in connection with the championships of the Tarurutangi Golf Club was continued during the weekend. In the semi-final of the men’s senior event H. Williams defeated F. Murray 6 up and 5, with the result that the former will contest the final with D. Street. The junior event was taken another stage. The semi-finals will be contested by the winners of the matches Sadler and Atcheley, Chamberlain and Devine, Christie and McCormick, and Cartwright. In the women’s senior championship Miss H. Murray has entered the final and will meet the winner of the match between Miss I. Street and Mrs. Wilton; The women’s junior event has reached the semi-finals. Miss Olson will meet Miss Hamilton and Miss Devine will meet Mrs, Chamberlain, the winners of these two matches will contest the final. INGLEWOOD WOMEN’S DRAW.
