TO LEAVE FOR AUSTRALIA
MISS JEAN BATTEN’S DEPARTURE. PRESENCE AT CENTENARY RACE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington Last Night. Miss Jean Batten, who is at present at Wellington, has been confined to bed for the last three days with a severe cold. She will leave for Auckland on Friday to visit her parents. Miss Batten will return to Wellington on September 18 to connect with the Maunganui for Sydney. She proposes to stay in Australia for the finish of the centenary air race and will probably return to New Zealand after the race. Miss Batten will take her aeroplane with her.
