FRANKLEY ROAD NOTES

PRIZE-WINNERS AT EUCHRE. The fortnightly euchre party organised by the Frankley school committee was held in the schoolroom on Tuesday evening. There was a good number present, seven tables being used. The prize-winners were Mrs. Lee. 1, . Mrs, Thomas 2, Mrs. Simpson consolation; Mr. Hoyland 1, Master Laurie Smith 2, Mr, Dravitski consolation. After the garnet supper was served by the ladies. The Frankley gymnasium very, much resembled a miniature flower show when the monthly meeting of the Women’s Institute took place on Tuesday afternoon. The competition was for the best specimens of spring flowers. Mrs. Jeff-' ries and Miss Kenny tied for first,’and Mrs. Thomas was third. The game of memory test in charge of Mrs. Thomas was won by Mrs. Goodacre. Miss Drew, New Plymouth, gave a very interesting talk concerning a religious conference she had visited at Stockholm. Miss Drew’s description of the journey between England and' Sweden was most interesting, as she told of many incidents during the trip. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs. Jeffries and Mrs. Hunter. ' ■

Mr. J. Wilson, Marton, is spending a few days with Mrs. Arden, Frankley Road.

Mrs. R. C. Henry, who has been staying at Matapu, has returned home.
