Misses Tui and Jean Macßae have returned from Wellington. Mrs. H. North has returned fiom a visit to Wellington. Mrs. H. Masters visited her sister in New Plymouth during the week. Mrs. McCallanan has returned from a holiday visit-to New Plymouth. Mrs. Chadwick, who has been holidaymaking at Wellington, has returned. Mrs. Hughs, Percy Avenue, has returned from a visit to Novz Plymouth. Mrs. D. Smith, Wanganui, is the guest of Mrs. A. Mapp, Midhirst. Mrs. B. Bellringer has returned from a visit to New Plymouth. Mrs. L. Furrie has returned from a holiday visit to Palmerston North, Napier and Hastings. Mrs. J. Rutherfurd, Wanganui, has returned after a visit to Stratford as the guest of Mrs. E. Rutherfurd. Miss Betty Hale, Stratford, and Miss Pat Lovell, Hawera, spent last weekend at Wellington. Miss Nicholson, who has been the guest of Mrs. Davies, Warwick Road, returned to Auckland on Wednesday night. Mrs. Griffiths has returned to New Plymouth after a visit to Str itford, as the guest of her daughter, Mrs. O’Carrol. ' Mrs. G. Watkins, who has bee a staying with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. Gray, has returned to Apiti. Miss Myra Wilson, who has been staying with Mrs. Ivan Dillon, Eltham, has returned. Mrs. McHardie Smith, who has been the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Moss, left for Rotorua last night. Mrs. Childs, who has been staying With her daughter, Mrs. P. O. Pope, New Plymouth, has returned. Miss Vera Eversfield, of the staff of the Rotorua High School, has been the guest of Mrs. M. Nolan, Mana Road, Ratapiko. Misses May and Hazel Bellshaw, who have been staying with Mrs. L. Franklin, Beaconsfield Road, have returned to Pahiatua. Miss Gwenda Kibby, who has been the guest of her aunt, Mrs. Wilson, Olivia Street, has returned to her home in Fitzroy. Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Newland gave a young people’s party on Thursday in honour of Misses Bellshaw. A jolly tune was spent in competitions and games. Mrs. J. Cresswell entertained the Portland Auction Bridge Club at her residence on Tuesday afternoon. Those present included Mesdames J. Spence, A. Coleman, E. Jeffries, L. Furrie, D. Malone, L. Jardine, R. Curtis. Mrs. Vincent was “at home’’ on Wednesday afternoon when among her guests were Mesdames Von Sturmer, junr., Carryer, N. H. Moss, Wynyard, Riera and O’Neill (Wellington). Mrs.' H. E. Newland, Wharehuia, entertained a few friends at her home on Thursday evening. A pleasant time was spent in games, musical items and community singing. Among those present were Misses R. Newland, W. Bellshaw, D. Franklin, B. Forbes, H. Bellshaw, F. Newland and D. Forbes. An enjoyable evening was spent by members of the Forty Social Club on Monday, when Mrs. R.- Macßae entertained her guests wearing a smart frock of black and green floral georgette. Songs were sung by Dr. Armstrong and dances given by Messrs. Macßae and Wade. The ladies present, were Mesdames McCready, H. Masters, T. Short, Batten, Harris, Armstrong, Alston, H. Cooper and Masters. Mrs. Dick Masters played the accompaniments and community singing was held. An enjoyable afternoon was spent at the parish hall on Friday, when the Anglican Mothers’ Union held a bring and buy and social afternoon. A delightful programme was given, those contributing being Mesdames Hewitt, W. Harris, Misses M. Brown, J. Cresswell and T. Cox. Acompaniments were played by Miss G. Galbraith. Among those present were Mesdames White, Cutfield, E. H. Young, Feek, Childs, Burgess, Coward, Aitkinson, Jones, Kivell, Dixon, Patterson, Hewitt, Harris, Penn, Thorpe, Townsley, Patterson, Law, Mahoney, Dawson, S. Lay, Brunton, Jenkin, Burton, Galbraith, Johnson, Coward, Tyrer, G. Hall, Porrit, Speechlay, Stephens, O’Reilly, Wicksteed, Belcher, Cranton, Mills, Cox, Marfell, Martin, Pugh, Buckley, Le Compt, Cresswell, Anstis, Woolaston, Whitwell, Purchase, Sole, Boyce, Maetzig (Inglewood), Kivell (Inglewood), Crossman (Inglewood), Leach (Inglewood) and Weam (Inglewood) and Misses Fitchett (Havelock), Taylor, M. Brown, J. Cresswell, T. Cox, Belcher, Marfell, Cutfield and Smith (Wanganui). PUNGAREHU. Miss O. Cooper has returned from Palmerston North. Miss K. Shaw has returned from Hamilton, where she spent a holiday. ' Miss K. Kean, New Plymouth, who has been the guest of Mrs. K. Gilhooly, has returned home. Miss E.
