EXTENSION OF VICEROY’S TERM. REQUEST TO LORD WILLINGDON. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. ' Calcutta, Aug. 31. It is understood that the British Cabinet has urged the Earl of Wiliingdon to accept an extension of his term of office as Viceroy of India in order to inaugurate the new reforms and direct the policy. The Earl of Willingdon sadly needs a rest, but it is believed that he may undertake a special term of office for three years when the present appointment expires. He says he is anxious to see a self-governing India in being.
