OKAIAWA SCOUT CONCERT

FUNDS FOR JAMBOREE PARTY. The Manaia Scouts gave a concert in the Okaiawa hall on Wednesday night. Each item received well merited applause. Following is the programme: Flag break and the National Anthem; “Welsome,” a signalling demonstration by the Scouts; pianoforte duets, Mrs. and Miss Mackie; exercises, the Cubs; drill and ju-jitsu, Scouts; songs, Mr. E. Johnson, Miss M. Mackie, Rev. R. Miller and Mr. J. E. Crompton; instrumental trio, Masters Silby and Miss Silby; tableau, the Scouts; fancy dance, Misses N. Payne and H. Hobday; sketch, Kiwis; shadowgraph, Cubs; sketch, “Stolen Pearls,” Scouts; camp fire, Scouts and Cubs. Miss M. Mackie played the accompaniments. At the conclusion the Rev. H. Cottam explained that one object of the concert was to help to raise funds to enable a party of six Manaia ScOuts to attend the jamboree at the Melbourne centenary. _ Mr. D. Wards, a member of the Okaiawa school committee, praised the performers for the excellent entertainment they had provided.
