PATEA MINIATURE SHOOTING
WAVERLEY TEAM’S SUCCESS. The first inter-club competition between the Patea Miniature Rifle Club and the Waverley Legion of Frontiersmen resulted in a win for the legion at the Patea domain on Monday.
In the aperture competition G. Cosford, Patea, with 49 topped the score, four competitors obtaining a possible in the open sight shooting, T. Floyd, Patea, and Frontiersmen Martin, Sharpe and Potts. Details are:— Open Sight Shooting.
Patea: C. Carey 46, J. Bates 49, G. Cosford 42, Miss Carey 46, C. East 49, C. Hill 48, Miss Coad 31, W. Bargrove 32, N. Nansett 32, V. Nansett 45, B. Waterland 49, Miss Willis 33, Miss Cleaver 45, Miss Nansett 41, T. Floyd 50, R. Willis 46, ,1. Fowler 46; total 730. Waverley: Sergt. Martin 50, Capt. Nielson 49, Frontiersmen Mitchell 49, Sharpe 50, McGlade 48, Sheild 46, Potts 50, Irvine 49, Cunningham 48, Taunton 47, Wall 49, Ross 34, Lieut. Boyer 49; total 618. In order to balance the teams, four scores totalling 137 were deducted, bringing Patea’s total down to 593. Aperture' Sight Shooting.

Four scores totalling 90 were deducted from Patea’s total, making it 515.
