ALLEGATION OF CRIME
TEXAN BEFORE SUPREME COURT. The trial was commenced before his Honour Mr. Justice Blair at the Supreme Court at New Plymouth yesterday of Ernest William Franklin, a native of San Antonio, Texas, U.S.A., and recently employed in Taranaki, on a charge of attempted breaking and entering of the house of Bernard L. McGinty, Courtenay Street, New Plymouth, in June, 1934. Mr R. H. Quilliam represented the Crown and Mr. L. M. Moss appeared for Franklin. The following jury was empanelled: Messrs C. A. Rankin (foreman), F. Kerchar, H. A. Abbott, E. S. Harrison, B. R. Wade, F. L. Wheeler, J. Johnston, G. Richardson, T. Burke, W. B. Riding, W. R. Stephens and L. Brown. The Court will resume at 10 a.m. today. ,
