NEW PLYMOUTH PARK LANDS

BEQUEST CLAUSE IN BILL SOUGHT.

OUTLINE OF AMENDMENTS. Amendments to the Bill at present before the House of Representatives empowering legal exchange of land between the Pukekura Park Board and the Taranaki Jockey Club were recommended to the Local Bills Committee at Wellington last week by Messrs. E. R. C. Gilmour and P. E. Stainton. On the recommendation of the board it was suggested that a clause should be inserted in the Bill permitting the administration as a single entity of-Brook-lands, Highlands and Pukekura Park, and providing that any bequests of money to Pukekura Park should be used on the entire area at the discretion of the board unless specifically willed otherwise. A clause finalising adjustment of the boundary between Pukekura Park and the Taranaki Jockey Club property was also recommended. The committee will place its recommendations before the House at an early date.
