GRAND NATIONAL SKI TITLES.

ACTON-ADAMS WINS MEN’S EVENT.

The grand national ski championships were continued on Saturday morning in fine weather. The snow was in fair condition on Ball Glacier. Results are:—

Slalom (open championship): W. M. Acton-Adams (Canterbury Winter Sports Club) 1, B. Murray (Lake Tekapo) 2, G. Hunter-Weston (Tasman Ski Club) 3; times, 39s and 281 s. Slalom (women’s championship): Nan Orbell (Timaru) 1, Nets Dixon (Christchurch) 2, Jeanetta Johnston (Timaru) 3; times, 46s and 425. Snow is now falling heavily.

Cross country open championship: W. M. Acton-Adams 1, T. McKellar 2, W. Elliot 3.

Women’s three miles: Miss Nan Orbell 1, Miss E. Acton-Adams and Miss J. Johnstone equal 2. Championship winners are:—

Men’s: W. M. Acton-Adams (Canterbury Winter Sports Club).

Women’s: Miss Nan Orbell (Timaru).
