BUTTER MARKET EXPECTATIONS. An improvement in the prices for New Zealand butter is expected in the near future according to advice received by the Anglo-Continental Produce Co. Ltd.’s New Plymouth office. Advices received are:— Anglo-Continental: The cold store stocks of butter exceed last year’s total by 11,000 tons. Arrivals from January to June of Danish, Baltic and other European countries show an increase of 20,000 tons, which continues to depress the market. Expect New Zealand brands will improve somewhat in the near future.' The current quotations are:—Butter: Finest, 745; first grade, 735. Cheese: White, 48s; coloured, 455. A. S. Paterson and Co. Ltd. (J. and J. Lonsdale and Co. (London) Ltd.:—Butter: Market firm- New Zealand, 745; Australian, 68s; Danish 67s f.0.b., 88s landed. Cheese: Market firm; white, 48s 6d; coloured, 45s 6d. Collett and Co. Ltd.:—Butter: Finest, 74s to 755; first, 73s to 745. Cheese: White, 48s to 495; coloured, 44s to 455. SHAREMARKET BUSINESS.
