KINGSFORD SMITH’S PLANE

NAME ANZAC NOT TO BE USED. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 8 p.m. Sydney, July 18. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith’s Altair monoplane is now in the hangar at Mascot as a “prohibited import” until a certificate of airworthiness is granted. The name Anzac must be eliminated. The Government regards Anzac as sacred to the people, and hopes that Sir Charles will not press his claim to use that name. He has already had the name painted out and is looking round for another.
