HUIRANGI FORESTERS’ LODGE
MUCH MEASLES AMONG CHILDREN.
SETTLER’S MOTOR-CAR BURNED.
There was a large attendance at the Huirangi old-time and modem dance on Monday under the auspices of the Foresters’ Lodge. There were nine tables of euchre in charge of Messrs. E. Andrews and J. Cousins. The prizewinners were: Men, Mr. W. St. George 1, Mr. Richards 2 (after a tie with Mr. Russel); ladies, Mrs Faigin 1, Mrs. L. Tate 2. Music was supplied by Rowe’s orchestra, and extras by Miss Gardiner, New Plymouth. Mr. G. Petersen was master of ceremonies. A Monte Carlo was won by Miss Willis and Mr. Pretty, and a bobbing waltz by Miss Bint and Mr. Veale. The prize for the man first on the floor the most during the evening was won by Mr. L. Cole. Owing to the prevalence of measles in the district the attendance at the school is much affected, and the fancy dress dance which was to have taken place early next month has been postponed. Morgan. Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Wells and Miss L. Wells left last week for Wellington, where they intend spending several days. Mrs. W. Goble, who has been spending a holiday in Inglewood, has return ed. Miss O. Nicoll is spending a few days in Hillsborough as the guest of Mrs. L. Nicoll. Mr. and Mrs. Mickleson have returned after a short stay at Rahotu.
