GOLF DANCE AT PUNGAREHU

DISTRICT PERSONAL ITEMS. A dance organised by the Cape Egm'ont Golf Club members was held in the Pungarehu Hall on Saturday evening. There was a very good attendance. Messrs. J. Hooker and S. Gordon provided the music, and Mr. R. B. Fleming was master of ceremonies.

Several people on the Bayly Road a few days ago were the interested spectators of a thrilling battle between two huge deep-sea fish a mile or so out to sea. At times one of the monsters was observed to jump right clear of the water in the struggle for supremacy. Miss K. Hargreaves, Te Kiri, has returned home. Miss I. Stockwell and Mr. F. Stockwell have returned from a holiday in Wanganui. Miss R. Wells, who was holidaying in Inglewood, has returned. Mrs. A. Graydon, Tokaroa, Waikato, is the guest of Mrs. O. Stockwell, Bayly Road.

Miss E. Gilhooly, who ha’s been an inmate of the New Plymouth hospital for several weeks, is home again. Miss E. Ashworth, Opur.ake, has been spending the week-end with Miss D. Smith, Pungarehu Road. Miss C. Phillips, Everett Road, Inglewood, is the guest of the Misses Wells, Bayly Road. Mr. and Mrs. P. Brophy, who have been attending their son’s wedding in Hawkes Bay district, have returned home.

Miss M. Gilhooly leaves shortly for a visit to Wellington.
