NEWTON KING, LTD.’S EXHIBIT A display that is of never failing interest to farmers is that of Newton King Ltd. It is essential to-day more than ever, to get the most out of the land and the great need is for suitable Fertilisers and Seeds of high germination and purity. Increasing trade proves that the Taranaki farmer knows well the care taken by Newton King Ltd. to supply nothing but the highest quality, the sample of roots on the stand taken from local crops and grown from pedigree and regenerated seed sent to the Firm by Messrs. Sutton and Garton, show vigorous growth. Among the roots may be seen Sutton’s Prize Winner Mangolds grown by Mr. Evan Jones, Toko, the crop being weighed at 120 tons to the acre. Also from Mr. A. T. Sulzberger, .Lowgarth, this crop weighing 100 tons to the acre* Garton’s Superlative Swede, weighing 70 tons to the acre, grown by Mr. Evan Jones, Toko. Sutton’s Majestic Swedes: Mr. F. J. Hopkins’ crop weighing 55 tons and Mr. N. G. Rowe’s estimated to weigh nearly 70 tons, a really wonderful crop. Sutton’s Matchless White Carrots and Sinclair’s Champion Carrots weighing respectively 55 and 56 tons to the acre and grown by Mr. Evan Jones and Mr. A. J. Lacey. Other exhibits are from Mr. A. H. Lee, Ngaere, Mr. J. Phillips, Eltham, Mr. W. Bond, Ngaere, and Mr. L. Hinton, Stratford, of Chou Moellier; Red Intermediate Mangold and Hardy Green Globe Turnips, grown from Sutton’s and Garton’s seeds.
For over 50 years Newton King Ltd. have been in "close touch with the man on the land and one result of that long experience is the manufacture of Sterling Mixtures which for grass or crops are complete fertilisers. Sterling Grass Manure is, becoming every year more favoured by the Taranaki farmer and the manufacture of this manure gives employment to local men. There is no danger in using a proven product. This interesting exhibit gives some idea of the great variety of goods handled by the firm, for instance, stock foods of all descriptions, fencing wire, netting, roofing iron, cements, Eclipse meat meal, moose meal and nuts, oats, wheat, pollard, bran, barley, Sterling salt lick, etc., etc. Every visitor should see this interesting exhibit.
