The Ashburton Racing Club will hold its winter meeting to-day. With the exception of the Dromore Steeplechase all the events have filled well, and the racing should be interesting. The following ■ should be prominent:— Hinds Hurdles: Adult, Verden, Fleeting Glance. Moreton Hack: Grampian,' Jacobin, Red Dance.

Mayfield Hack: Imperial Spear, Cleaner, Star Raider.

Dromore Steeplechase: Punchestown, Membo.

Maronan Handicap: Water Power, Great Star, Final Shot. The acceptors are;—

12.15 p.m.— HINDS HURDLES HANDICAP. Of £lOO. One mile and a-half.

MORETON HACK HANDICAP. Of £BO. Six furlongs.

1.30 p.m.— LYNDHURST TROT HANDICAP. Of £9O. 3.45 class. One mile and a-half.

2.5 p.m.— MAYFIELD HACK HANDICAP. Of £9O. One mile and a-quarter.

2.40 p.m.— DROMORE STEEPLECHASE. Of £l2O. About two miles.
