NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE AND LEVY GENERAL AND SEPARATE RATES FOR 1934-1935. pUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Rating Act 1925” and by the ' “Counties Act 1920” and amendments thereto, and by Section 5 of “The Valuation of Land Amendment Act 1933” it is the intention of the Council of the County of Hawera at the regular meeting of the said Council to be held at the Council Chambers, Princes Street, Hawera, at 10.30 a.m. on Saturday the 7th day of July 1934, to make and levy the following General Rates on, the basis of Seventy-five per centum of the Capital Values as at Ist. April 1926 of all rateable property which has not been reduced in Capital Value under Section 45 c. Section 50 of “The Valuation of Land Act 1925” by an amount equal to twentyfive or more per centum of the original valuation, and on the basis of the present Capital Value of all rateable property which has been reduced in value since 1926 under Section 45 or Section 50 of “The Valuation of Land Act 1925” by an amount equal to twenty-five or more per centum situated within the respective Ridings of the Hawera County as follows:—

HAWERA RIDING (Outlying District) IJd in the £. MOKOIA RIDING Hd in. the £. ARARATA RIDING lid in the £. Such Rates shall be for the period commencing on the Ist. day of April 1924 and ending on the 31st. day of March 1935 and shall become due and payable in one sum to the County Treasurer at the County Office, Princes Street, Hawera on the Sth. day of August 1934. Also the annually recurring Separate Fire prevention Rate < of one-sixth of a penny in the £ on the value of buildings only, over that portion of the , County as described in the Special Schedule for such purpose, will be levied and be made payable on the same date and for the same period. All such. Rates shall be subject to a penalty of 10 per cent, if not paid within 6 months and 14 days from date of demand.
